The October Garden

It is October and the leaves are almost gone from the trees. The tomatoes and summer squash have wilted from the cold. Yet the garden is filled with life and beauty and wonderful food. The cosmos are giving their last show behind the lovely onions and leeks, while a few blossoms from the heirloom petunias peek out in the foreground.

In the greenhouse, the Meyer lemons starting to take on their yellow coloring and the cucumbers are blossoming and bursting with fruit.
